Banffy Caastle (or Bonţida Bánffy Castle) is an architectonic Baroque monument situated in Bontida, a village close to Cluj-Napoca, Romania. It was built during the 15th and was owned by the famous noble Hungarian family, Banffy. The castle was desecrated during World War II by German troops and neglected by the communist regime in Romania; it is currently being restored as a cultural center. As a premiere for the festival, the castle opened its doors to the public during the 5th edition of Electric Castle, hosting an array of exhibitions and interactive art installations.
